I had a good showing this last weekend at the Sculpture in the Hills show in Hill City, SD.  The folks that put the show on (as always) treated the artists like gold and the show seems to run like clockwork.  Crowds at the show were pretty steady all weekend and at times it was down right crowded.  I don't know, but the attendance had to be way up from the last two years that I have done it.  I sold several pieces and am not sure there was anyone who didn't sell something.  In fact the rumors are that it was their best selling show ever.

Personally, I had a lot of fun.  I talked to tons of people and my face still hurts from smiling and laughing so much. I saw Patrons that have purchased pieces from me at other shows, folks that I am getting to know both from past shows, and LOTS of great new people.  I've got tons of stories.  One man told me about fishing in Florida with a Great Heron standing literally right next to him waiting for him to reel in his next fish.  Another told me that he didn't think my birds were detailed enough, LOL. He admitted to being one of those crazy bird carvers that gets down to the 'Nth' degree.  We must have talked and traded techniques for twenty minutes.

Saturday Maggie Engler with the Black Hills Raptor Center stopped by the tent.  She just happened to have Little Red Riding Hoot, the Screech Owl who's portrait I sculpted at the Quick Draw last year!  Maggie was kind enough to bring the owl into the show and we took some photos of us with our respective birds.  That little owl was a hit :)

Gotta-go, there is a truck to unload yet and thank you cards to write.
