Arctic Huntress

Arctic Huntress is my long awaited and often promised version of a snowy owl. I chose to depict a female snowy because I enjoy the character of her markings and they work so well with the natural coloration of the bronze. This is the first bird that I have offered in flight with it's wings open and lots of movement. My previous work has been about subtle movement and balance. The power, aggressiveness, and agility not always associated with owls comes clear in this piece lending an expanded definition of beauty to this amazing bird.
