Piggyback, Heads

This little family is named "Piggyback"; they are Clark's Grebes. A wonderful diving duck endemic to the western US.  I have always been fascinated by the adult's mating rituals which include the famous synchronized water dancing.  I also love the way the parents carry their chicks on their backs like their more famous cousins, the loons.
